RadioPlayer is operated as a not-for-profit organisation owned by UK radio broadcasters and currently offers some 500 UK stations, including Radio Caroline and Caroline Flashback.
Although we are not responsible for the way the player works, we do supply the streams, so if you have streaming problems your first port of call will be our website where any ongoing issues will appear in a Service Message banner near the top of the page.
'Glitches' or short breaks in streaming audio are a fact of internet life, but if you do get continuous problems and there is no Service Message you may report your issue here.

We operate on the medium wave band, so obviously you'll need a medium wave capable radio. Less are being made these days, but many people have thankfully clung into theirs. You can hear us strongly in Suffolk and most of Essex, with the signal dropping off gradually further afield. Those with 'good' radios or communication receivers can hear us at considerable distances from our transmitter, depending on local conditions and other factors.

Radio Caroline can be heard up and down the UK in eight towns on DAB equipped radios – London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Brighton, Aldershot/Woking, Norwich, Portsmouth and Cambridge. These are all small scale multiplexes with limited range. See our DAB page and coverage maps for more details.

We produce our own apps for both iOS and Android which are sold at low cost with the income being used to help maintain our web services.
Keeping your device up to date with the latest version of its operating system is our best advice here, particularly on the Android platform.
Report an issue with one of our apps
A set of mutually incompatible voice-operated platforms operated by Amazon (Alexa), Apple (Siri), Google (Google Assistant) and others.
Radio Caroline and Caroline Flashback can be played via these platforms using the follow invocations:
Amazon Echo (Alexa) "Alexa – Play Radio Caroline [or Caroline Flashback]"
Apple Homepod (Siri) "Hey Siri – Play Radio Caroline [or Caroline Flashback]"
Apple Homepod (Siri) "Play Radio Caroline USA West | Play Radio Caroline USA East"
If you hear the wrong channel when trying for the Album Channel try "Alexa – Play Radio Caroline 648" or better still install the Radio Caroline skill by saying "Alexa (or your chosen wake-up word), enable Radio Caroline skill." Thereafter, you'll be able to say "Alexa (or your chosen wake-up word), play Radio Caroline" or "Alexa (or your chosen wake-up word), open Radio Caroline" and your device will play us.

Note that iPhones and iPads also used Siri, but need to have either the RadioPlayer or TuneIn app installed by the user. And of course many users would already have the official Caroline app, which not only plays our programmes but includes the programme schedule and other niceties.
Some oddities can be cured by simply reloading our site. It's also worth trying another browser, if you have one, to see if the issue is browser specific.
If you do need to report an issue please tell us if you are viewing on a desktop/laptop computer or mobile device and the name of the browser you are using. Simply telling us something "Doesn't work" is not always helpful, so provide as much information as you can.
